U.S. Air Force at a glance

The U.S. Air Force is rolling out an interactive extension of the %u201CIt%u2019s Not Science Fiction%u201D campaign which captures the missions and technology of the Air Force. For this new site, the Air Force and their agency of record, GSD&M Idea City, partnered with Visual Goodness. The new multi-dimensional site includes a redesign of the AirForce.com homepage to feature scenes taken from the %u201CIt%u2019s Not Science Fiction%u201D TV creative work. Users not only get an in-depth look at careers and technology seen in the spots, but the opportunity to click around and experience the advanced capabilities of the Air Force. An Air Force mobile site will complement the site redesign. Created by Ipsh!, the mobile site includes information on Air Force careers and the ability to download wallpapers and the %u201CIt%u2019s Not Science Fiction%u201D TV spots. Shot by famed director Phil Joanou, the %u201CIt%u2019s Not Science Fiction%u201D campaign launched in July 2009 and encompasses three TV spots, and two cinema spots including the first in-theater military flyover and first 3-D spot placed by a military branch. Each spot opens with a scene that looks like a science fiction movie but when the effect peels away, you realize the Air Force really can do these things. A voiceover says, %u201CIt%u2019s not science fiction. It%u2019s what we do every day.%u201D Creative Description: This interactive extension of the %u201CIt%u2019s Not Science Fiction%u201D campaign allows users to step into the television commercials and explore the particular Air Force careers and technology used for Combat Search and Rescue, Remotely Piloted Aircraft, and Space. This multi-media experience website combines video, gaming, live chat and printed information to demonstrate what it%u2019s like having a career in the Air Force and being able to work with technology that was once thought to be science fiction.
